This is a picture of a beautiful finished basement. The most common reason for a basement flood are waterproofing issues, sump pump, laundry overflow or connecting pipe burst, bottom of hot water tank blows out and sewer backs up. Big aggravate causes are carpet covering drain, sump pump basket higher than surrounding floor, socks and clothing covering drains. and vacations.  With all these potential problems you should check to see if you have flood insurance.  It is not that expensive. Also sump pump insurance is separate coverage.  So what about this picture? Really nice job. I can see a total bill for restoration being up around $50,000.  Does it make sense to get the insurance?
